Community Midwives

The community midwives visit the surgery once a week on Thursday mornings. The midwife will book you in and arrange your follow ups with her.

For emergency antenatal advice you should call the community midwives office, Mirrlees Ward if under 24 weeks or Day Obstetric Unit if over 24 weeks pregnant. All services are contactable on 01424 755255.

Community Nurses

The community nurses are employed by East Sussex Healthcare Trust and are not attached to the surgery. They visit and care for patients that are unable to get to the practice and therefore only visit patients who are housebound and need care for conditions such as daily dressings and chronic illnesses.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

If you require any advice about your child and his/her development the health visitor would be happy to advise you. They can be contacted on Tel: (01424) 724340.
